Interactive
Participatory centre-pieces guarantee originality. No matter how many times your colleagues have seen or heard a given form of entertainment, there is something unique about seeing each other up on stage, on the big screen, or in a context you simply have not seen each other in before. The art and science of a truly great party involves enough flexibility to embrace the unexpected. Interactive ‘performances' from amongst your colleagues change perceptions and break ice like no other form of entertainment.
Examples range from physical events, such as Scottish dancing to remixed pop music (as enjoyed by Price Waterhouse Coopers), through to interactive DVD quizzes. The Product Control Group at Barclays was one of the first groups to invite P.O.P.'s film crew to their offices to record volunteers in fancy dress disguise. Unbeknown to their colleagues, the footage was then played back at their event as part of a quiz in which guests were asked to ‘guess who' as their mystery colleagues appeared on the screen.
Classic
Classic forms of entertainment are ultimately classic for a reason; they survive the test of time. Some classics are better left alone (why change a winning formula?), but even timeless forms of entertainment can benefit from the occasional twist. All classic art forms are available, including musicians, dancers, magicians, and other performing artists. And if an element of surprise is deemed to enhance a performance, this can of course be added. As with the brass band who burst into a display of press-ups (whilst continuing to play) at an Olympic themed public event.
Big and Different
Whether you are seeking a reaction of awe and wonder from your guests, or simply an appreciation of the randomness offered by ‘scale', big and different events offer memories in grand abundance. Sheep racing on 34 acres at The Farm is a spectacle to be believed, as is medieval jousting on horseback. Further 'Big and Different' interactive events available include Dragon Boat racing and Olympic ‘it's a knockout' style challenges. The spirit of London 2012 is fully embraced with the opportunity to host your summer event with Team GB athletes, as well as Winter Games including activities such as ‘new age curling' and Bobsleigh experiences for guests.
