The context in which your entertainment takes place dramatically influences the overall experience. Some combinations of venues and entertainment are greatly enhanced by the application of intelligent interior design. Options range from wholesale thematic interiors, that completely change the visual appearance of a venue, through to finishing touches which enhance venue characteristics that are naturally aligned with an entertainment concept or theme.
Marquees and Interior Draping
Marquee interiors can be employed both outside and within buildings to create a completely themed environment within. With a combination of draping, lighting, props and costumes, P.O.P.'s theatrical set designers are available to start from scratch with virtually any environment you choose to create, from Manhattan to Mars.
Examples of entire structures that can form the basis of outdoor arenas include Indian and Arabic marquees, Circus big-tops, and an inflatable village built around a 500 capacity inflatable dome. These structures are strongly recommended for events on P.O.P.'s Farm site at Canary Wharf.
Lighting
The classic approach of up lighting large halls and open spaces with ambient beams in deep purples and blues is timeless, but many more possibilities exist, from projecting photographs of guests arriving at your event onto the walls, to lighting the outside of your venue with your company logo or the name of your event.
Finishing Touches
Event interiors can be tailored with features that create the warm glow of energy or ‘ownership' as your colleagues discover and enjoy them. Examples range from the energetic, such as the Saturday Night Fever style dance floor that lights up as guests step into the action, to the static, for instance a DJ booth created from hay bales at a Wild West event for media firm 'N2O'. A nice example of personalisation is the surprise enjoyed by the sports company 'SPIN'. After dinner the tables were rapidly stripped, to reveal that guests were in fact dining on pool tables ready for action! Looking to the ceiling, football shirts hanging from the rafters emerged, bearing guests' surnames. A personalised Sports Bar had been created.
